Welcome to The Congressional Schools of Virginia! Since
1939 we have been developing strong partnerships with parents
who choose a superior educational environment
for their children. Our alumni are world citizens, literally.
On this website you will learn the many aspects of our accredited school, camp and day care programs, but perhaps the best way to fully appreciate our diverse school family and all we have to offer is to schedule a visit to tour our 40 acre campus in Falls Church.
As a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington, we are very resourceful in helping parents, teachers and students. As a not-for-profit governed by an independent Board of Regents, our school is funded through tuition and charitable contributions and is free of the constraints of the Standards of Learning (SOL).
The Congressional Way encompasses so many aspects of our year-round approach to education, from school year through summer camp activities, but it also represents the healthy respect our school family demonstrates daily throughout our organization. Our Honor Code is at the heart of all our actions, and I trust you will feel its presence in our website and when you visit.
Our swimming pools, horse corrals, nature trail, climbing wall and challenge course are just some of our visible outdoor facilities. Inside, the television studio, the technology labs and interactive white boards in classrooms broaden the vision of students beyond traditional approaches; however our certified teachers are clearly our most attractive asset.
Talented, fun and nurturing, Congressional teachers bring learning to
life. Yes, the 
accelerated curriculum is challenging. Yes,
we expect intellectual growth among our classes. Yes, tutorial
and extra help are
available for students who legitimately struggle. We believe
that overcoming struggle builds important self-confidence
that is so critical during
the primary school years. Together with you, we prepare for
the future!
We help parents set the stage for each child’s success in life. Beyond Congressional lies leadership in secondary school and college for every graduate. Families who must transfer out of the area before graduation report that our school prepared their children well for enrollment in fine schools all over the world.
